    1. Medical Disclaimer

    Brilin Functional Medicine Centre ("Brilin", "we", "us" or "our") provides integrative and complementary health services. The information, consultations, testing, therapies and content we provide are intended for general educational and wellness purposes only.

    Brilin does not claim to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition. Our services are complementary to, and never a substitute for, the advice, diagnosis or treatment provided by your doctor or other qualified healthcare professional. Always seek the advice of your GP or a registered medical professional with any questions about a medical condition, and never disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of something you have read or received from Brilin.

    Our approach focuses on identifying possible underlying factors that may be affecting your wellbeing and supporting your body's natural functions. Any assessments or testing we provide are functional and educational in nature and are not a medical diagnosis.

    2. No Practitioner–Patient Relationship

    Use of this website does not create any practitioner–patient or clinical relationship between you and Brilin. Content on this website is general in nature and is not tailored to your individual circumstances. Any personalised guidance is provided only within a paid consultation, and even then is complementary and educational, and is not a substitute for conventional medical care.

    We strongly encourage you to keep working with your GP, specialist or other registered healthcare providers throughout your time with Brilin, and to keep them informed about any complementary approaches you are considering.

    3. Testimonials & Results

    Testimonials, reviews, case studies and video stories shared by Brilin reflect the personal experiences of individual clients. They are shared to illustrate the kind of support Brilin offers, and they are not a guarantee, promise or prediction of any particular outcome.

    Individual results vary significantly from person to person. What worked for one person may not work for another. Testimonials are not medical claims and should not be interpreted as evidence that any service will produce a similar result for you.

    4. Therapies & Devices

    Brilin offers a range of complementary therapies and technologies. Some of the devices and therapies we use are certified or registered medical devices in New Zealand or overseas; others are not approved or registered medical devices and are offered as complementary and experimental options only.

    Some therapies — including Rife frequency technology and certain other devices — are not approved medical devices in New Zealand. They are made available for clients who choose to use them experimentally and entirely at their own risk. These therapies should be regarded as a complementary option alongside, not instead of, conventional medical care. Please discuss with your health professional before proceeding.

    Where therapies are described as having a long history of use or being "science-informed", this refers to their background and general use, and is not a claim that they are proven to treat or cure any specific condition. You should make your own informed decision and consult your healthcare provider before undertaking any therapy.

    5. Bookings, Payments & Cancellations

    • Payment for in-clinic consultations and therapy sessions is made on the day of your appointment.
    • Online and remote consultations (including those involving hair analysis) must be pre-ordered and paid in advance so we can prepare your assessment before your appointment.
    • We accept cash, EFTPOS and card. A 2% surcharge applies to PayWave and credit card payments.
    • We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment may incur a charge.
    • Concession cards, packages and memberships are subject to their own specific terms, which will be provided at the time of purchase.

    6. Shipping & Delivery (Product Orders)

    The following applies to physical product orders — such as devices purchased from Brilin. It does not apply to in-clinic consultations or therapy sessions.

    All orders are dispatched via Post Haste courier or Insured Post, with full tracking and insurance included. Every package is insured against damage or loss during transit — you are covered from the moment your order leaves our hands. Orders are typically dispatched within 1–2 business days of payment being received.

    Shipping rates

    • New Zealand: $1 flat-rate shipping on orders of $550 NZD and over (and on orders of $1,000 NZD and over). Standard shipping rates apply to smaller orders — contact us for a quote.
    • Australia: $1 flat-rate shipping on orders of AUD $2,300 and over. Standard rates apply to smaller orders.
    • Rest of world: $1 flat-rate shipping on orders of USD $2,300 and over. Standard rates apply to smaller orders. We ship worldwide.

    Damaged or lost parcels

    In the unlikely event your order arrives damaged or is lost in transit, all packages are fully insured. Contact us immediately and we will manage the insurance claim and replacement on your behalf. Please do not discard any damaged packaging — photos of the damaged packaging and contents will be required for the insurance claim.

    7. Returns & Guarantee (Product Orders)

    30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee — Bioptron Devices

    We stand behind Bioptron completely. All Bioptron devices purchased from Brilin Ltd are covered by our 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If within 30 days of receiving your device you are not satisfied with your purchase, please contact us and we will discuss your options, including return and refund.

    To be eligible for a return, the device must be in its original condition and complete with all packaging and accessories. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty or was not as described. This guarantee is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

    20-Day Guarantee — Alpha-Stim Devices

    Alpha-Stim devices purchased from Brilin Ltd are covered by a 20-day satisfaction guarantee. If within 20 days of receiving your device you wish to return it, please contact us to arrange the return. A 20% restocking fee always applies to Alpha-Stim returns, and return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. The device must be returned in its original condition and complete with all packaging and accessories. This guarantee is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

    8. Warranty (Bioptron Devices)

    Bioptron devices purchased from Brilin Ltd are covered by the following manufacturer warranty:

    • Main unit: 5-year warranty
    • Light bulb: 2-year warranty
    • Lenses: not covered under warranty, unless found to be damaged on arrival (please report any arrival damage immediately).

    To make a warranty or return claim, please contact us using the Contact Us form on our website. Hire devices are subject to their own separate terms, provided at the time of hire.

    By accessing and using this website you agree to these terms. The content of this website is for your general information and use only and is subject to change without notice. You agree to use this website lawfully and not in any way that may damage, disable or impair the site or interfere with any other party's use of it.

    While we make every effort to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, we make no warranties about the completeness, accuracy, reliability or suitability of the information for any purpose. Any reliance you place on such information is strictly at your own risk.

    What we collect

    We may collect personal information you provide to us — such as your name, contact details, health history and information arising from consultations and testing — in order to provide our services to you.

    How we use it

    We use your information to provide and improve our services, prepare your personalised recommendations, communicate with you, process bookings and payments, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

    Storage and access

    We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure. You have the right to request access to, and correction of, the personal information we hold about you. To do so, please contact us using the details below.

    If we maintain a separate, more detailed Privacy Policy, it will be available on this website and should be read together with this section.

    13. Limitation of Liability

    To the maximum extent permitted by law, Brilin, its directors, employees and associates will not be liable for any loss or damage — whether direct, indirect, incidental or consequential — arising from your use of this website, our services, or any therapy, device or information provided, except to the extent that such liability cannot be excluded under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable New Zealand law.

    You acknowledge that you use our services and any therapies or devices voluntarily and, where stated, at your own risk, having made your own informed decision.

    14. Governing Law

    These terms and your use of this website and our services are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
